I have a broad technical background and experience developing, modernizing and maintaining complex, business-critical software systems. My strengths include backend development with Java, Kotlin and Spring Boot, system integrations and cloud-native technologies.

Backend Engineering
Designing and maintaining backend functionality in Java, Kotlin and Spring Boot — from analysis and technical design through to production.

Working on SpoedEPD, a business-critical application that supports out-of-hours GP posts 24/7 with triage, patient registration, medical record-keeping and data exchange with other healthcare systems. My scope ranges from new functionality and technical modernization to integrations, production support and incident analysis.
- Develop and maintain backend functionality with Java, Kotlin and Spring Boot.
- Deliver features end-to-end: from analysis and technical design to implementation, testing and production.
- Design and implement REST APIs and OpenAPI specifications for communication between internal and external systems.
- Build and maintain connectors for retrieving, processing and exchanging patient, record and referral data.
- Contribute to technical modernization, including the migration to Java 17, Spring Boot 3 and Hibernate 6.
